Ž Spring Semi-Annual Meetings
The spring semi-annual meetings will be held in Halifax, Nova Scotia on May 10 and 11, 2011.  More information will be posted on the “Next Meetings” page soon.

Ž Volunteer Recruitment
If your organization is a member of the Fuel Tax Council and you would like to participate on one or more of our sub-committees, please contact the Council Manager for more information.  Also, we are always looking for new trainers for our three courses.  If you have an interest in becoming a trainer, please contact the Council Manager.  Travel costs for trainers to provide instruction at one of our courses are paid for by the Fuel Tax Council.

Ž Fall FTC Semi-Annual Meetings
Our next  Semi-Annual Meetings are is in Edmonton, Alberta at the Varscona Hotel on Whyte on October 26 and 27, 2010.  If you are planning to attend and require accommodation,  please make your hotel reservations before September 24 (our group reservation cut-off date) to ensure a room is available at the hotel.

Ž             Communication Protocol
The new Communication Protocol which was presented and discussed at the Steering Committee meeting in April has been distributed for a review and voting by member jurisdictions.

Ž             Update on New Web Site
The new Fuel Tax Council Website is under development.  One of the new features of the new website is a “members only” area where we plan to provide more information of specific interest to our members.  As well, the appearance and presentation of the website will change significantly.  The website is expected to be available in late September or early October, 2010.  

Ž             Field Audit Training Course
The Field Audit Training Course was held in Calgary, Alberta from May 26-28, 2010 and linked by video conference to Edmonton.  The course was attended by  27 people (10 by video conference).  Participants from government and industry attended. 

Ž             New Audit and Enforcement Co-Chair
Antoinette Tannous (Quebec) has accepted the Audit and Enforcement Sub-Committee co-chair position.

Ž             Advisory Committee - Bruce Mitchell (Ontario) has accepted the Advisory Committee Government Co-Chair position effective March 22, 2010.
